Character Minifig Creation Contest WINNERS Purist Category
Fourth Place Comments: A good character with a well-written background story, a minifig that shows at least a little creative customization without breaking the purist rules, and good photographs taken in a variety of situations... all add up to a very solid entry for this category. Great job!
Third Place Comments: I was surprised I didn't get more Slashrim entries, and Killer Croc is the obvious purist Slashrim Grommuk minifig. Combine him with a cool set of gear, and a well-written, accurate biography, and hey, you've got a winning entry in my book! Plus the presentation in the photographs was just awesome. You can tell this guy kicks butt.
Second Place Comments: This is one thing I was really looking for among the purist entries: customization. Sure, the category may not be called "customized," but since no cutting or decals are allowed, that means you have to show creativity with the parts available. This creation does that, and while there are not as many cool situational photographs as the previous two winners, the characters themselves are more unique. An excellent entry!
FIRST PLACE Comments: It's nice to see a unique, non-combat-oriented character with a personality description nearly as long as the lengthy biography, neither of which are too cliché, and a well-made and well-photographed minifig shown in a variety of applicable situations to boot. What can I say? It was even tougher picking a winner in the purist category than it was in the customized one, but I think Kyridia deserves it. Honorable Mentions

Fourth Place Comments: I really like the overall look of this minifig. The use of the G4M3 decals, choice of weapons, grey armor on tan, and leg holster just go really well together. The character of a Zygbari rebel and the story behind his political dissent is nice as well. Photos and backgrounds could use some work, but they're not too bad. Great job!
Third Place Comments: If some backgrounds scenes had been provided and the print quality of the decals had been higher, this entry may have earned second place! As it is, the actual design of the decals is superb: the red target over one eye looks awesome, as do the armor and weapons. Add in the detailed and accurate bio and the also pretty cool partner character who was entered (I am jealous of your Ninja Princess head, by the way), and you've got a solid third placer!
Second Place Comments: In addition to having a cool name, this character has a detailed and accurate biography, high-quality decals and photos, and nicely laid-out backgrounds that look cool and are relevant to the story. In short: all bases covered! My only complaint is that the decals look like a combination of Halo and Predator rather than entirely unique (and the nose-bandage bugs me), but that's not enough to detract significantly from the score of this excellent entry. Great job!
FIRST PLACE Comments: I challenged contestants to make an Achmer minifig, and I knew it would be a daunting task. Several Achmer characters were entered, but most, while inventive, were far too large and blocky. Then I saw this entry! It's not technically a full Achmer body, but the use of a Mars Mission alien (one of the most useless parts LEGO has made to date) for the Achmer head works great, and the battle-suit is downright awesome. The character's personality is good too - the creator understands what the Achmer are all about yet makes this character different. Definitely one of my favorite entries! Honorable Mentions
Thanks to all who entered!
