Faction: A freelance freighter pilot, who has dealings with Zygbar, Victory, Xarkon, and Yavakaro, along with most other factions.
Role: Freelance freighter pilot who mainly trades in legal exports, shipping them between the various factions both on and off of Terra Nova.
Weapons of Choice: Steel combat knife, blazer pistol and standard semi-automatic pistol (non-caseless)
Biography:
Born into a middle-class family in the capital city of Victory, Red Cliff, on Terra Nova, Sam grew up with the relative comforts and safety of a life led in the mostly-political nation of Victory. As he grew up and saw his friends sign up as soldiers or become successful businessmen (or unsuccessful businessmen, as the case may be), he realised he had no wish to make a name for himself as a fighter. Using his inheritance money received from his father, a moderately-wealthy politician, he bought his freighter, the Flying Dodo. Not having enough money to equip his vessel with an energy shield, he instead ‘beefed up’ the engines, making the ship quite speedy for its size.

Using the remaining money, he filled the cargo bay with useful goods and began trading across Terra Nova. A fairly neutral character, Sam traded with all the nations, and charged no extra prices for his goods, regardless of the buyer’s nationality (although he occasionally cuts the price when selling to Victorian businessmen he knew as a child).

After becoming fairly wealthy in his trade, Sam soon headed out into the deep reaches of space, and made several runs between the different planets around Terra Nova, trading cargo and collecting the profits from the outlandish goods. After losing the Flying Dodo when his hangar on Terra Nova was bombed by a group of space pirates, he commissioned a new ship, based on the design of the Cerberus, the personal ship of notorious assassin Ty Kell. Not being a warrior, he only armed his new vessel lightly, but invested in an energy shield and powerful engine systems (as well as extra space) and began trading once more. After making a small name for himself as a gutsy freighter pilot, Sam has begun trading in some illegal goods (notably supplying black-market weapons to Grimm’s Army and Zygbar), but still sticks mostly to the good side of the law.

Personality: Sam is, in DnD terms, Neutral Good in alignment, and his personality is jovial, easy-going, and loyal to his cause. He is honest, but a bit of a coward if it comes to fighting. Known for his winning smile and the casual use of his highly-developed (but seldome ever noticed) charisma to coax many potential buyers into paying much more than normal for his cargo, without even realising it.
