The Xarkon Infantry
LEGO by: Justin R. "Saber-Scorpion" Stebbins

The Armed Forces of Xarkon in LEGO minifig form.

Another shot of the whole set I made. It consists of six soldiers, one squad leader, three pilots, two Enomegs, three officers, two engineers, a medic, and a scout. I have made even more since then.

Here are the infantry regulars: the grunts of the Xarkon Armed Forces. The guy in the middle is a Squad Leader with a dark red arm and the Crown of Xarkon emblem on his chest to distinguish him from the rest of the troops.

The squad leader also has the Crown emblazoned on the back of his helmet, as you can see. Although the Xarkon infantry wear red while at base and during ceremonies, their armor plating can change color to match their surroundings on command.

I painted all of the helmets with Testors Model Paint. I bought Glossy Red in these paint markers, which made it really easy to apply. I also added some details with a very fine-tipped black paint marker. That's what I used to paint the inside of the "gas mask" thing black, the black vents, the black outlines, etc.

These are the Xarkon Engineers. They specialize in fixing up the vehicles and walkers, but they are also adept at using heavy weapons and explosives. Many of them are also skilled hackers.

On the right, your average guy who learned about mechanics by reading about it in books. On the left, your average guy who learned about mechanics by actually fixing things.

My original intention was to have all of the various Xarkon army guys (engineers, medics, etc.) have the same standard helmet, but it didn't work out that way. One reason is because LEGO backpacks aren't compatible with Scout trooper helmets.

Medics are always female. Seriously. Like the ones in StarCraft, ya know? Okay, I know they really aren't, but anyway...

An officer in dress uniform. The two bands forming a red X over his chest are used for pinning medals on.

This is High General Jacob Black of the Xarkon Ground Forces. He's Mars's right-hand man, and one of the few who has his trust.

When Xarkon needs to send in a man alone on an infiltration or scouting mission, or any mission that requires independence, quick thinking, and survival skills, they send a Scout... unless they have an Enomeg available for the job, of course.

The Scout has a special helmet with a built-in scope that is linked to his silenced Blazer Crossbow. The crossbow can fire energy-shielded bolts, stun darts, or any number of other devices useful on the mission.

What army would be complete without some pilots? As usual, their outifts feature breathing hoses and all that sort of life support stuff. I felt like I had to put it; it just wouldn't seem like a pilot without it.

If you don't know who this is... I'm very disappointed.

Scorp shows off his cool decals while Raven looks on. Scorp and Raven are Xarkon Enomeg Super-Soldiers. At birth, children born in Xarkon are genetically tested for the supposed "warrior genes" that code for "honor, bravery, loyalty, supremacy" as the Xarkon motto puts it. When found, many these children are whisked away to become Enomegs. From childhood up, they are turned into fighting machines. Very few survive the training and/or complete all the goals. Those who do are never the same again.

I was unfortunately unable to make the signature Enomeg helmets. First of all, I'm working on a new design for the Enomeg helmet right now, and secondly, I want them to be perfect, and they're really hard to do...

Here is High Commander Lucas Mars of the Armed Forces of Xarkon, lecturing his son, the Enomeg code-named "Raven" and the only Enomeg allowed to wear solid black armor, on the ways of war. Though Raven could probably kill his father with his superior skill, he lacks Mars's tactical cunning and experience needed to lead the nation's military.

Here is Mars from a front view. It's kind of funny how I made his sword: I noticed one of my shiny medieval swords was totally scratched up, so I just decided to scratch what was left of the chrome off of the blade. What resulted was this neat foggy white color. I then customized the blade by making it sharper, and I put a decal on the hilt. Boom: instant cool sword. This alien here, by the way, you might recognize if you looked at my website before I started totally re-doing the Armed Forces of Xarkon. His name is now Ignatuzaelrog, known by humans as Commander Ignatus of the Xarkon ASF (Air and Space Forces). His flagship is the star cruiser Angurvadel. Still working on decals for him.
