"What Nova Refuge Faction are You?"
Quiz Those of you who are members of the Saber-Scorpion's Lair Forums (SSLF) will remember the very popular "What Nova Refuge Faction are You?" quiz I posted there. Well, this one is NOT THE SAME QUIZ! I was never quite satisfied with that first quiz. The results were too predictable, and the method of calculating them was too simplistic. In essence, I don't think it was really very accurate, or very fun. The way it worked was this: every question had the same number of answers, and each answer corresponded with a certain result (faction). The way I wanted it to work (and the way this one does work) was this: the number of answers for each question varied, and each answer awarded a certain number of points toward multiple results (factions). I have been looking all over the Internet for the best available method, and have had very little success. The website I finally settled on was partially chosen simply because I had already wasted so much time setting up a quiz there, and I hated to let all of that hard work go to waste. If you know of a better website I could use, or (ideally) a way I could implement a quiz, then please send me an e-mail at justin@saber-scorpion.com. For now, here is the current quiz. Instructions (please read these!) 1: Go to the quiz page. BE WARNED: there are ad banners all over the place on this website! You'll have to ignore them and dance around them to get to the quiz. Sorry about that. 2: Answer the questions as truthfully as you can, with your own personal opinions and feelings. This is a test of your personality, to see which faction is similar to YOU, so if you don't tell the quiz how YOU feel, then your results will be inaccurate. 3: Note the selector at the bottom of each question that allows you to place a "priority" on each question. You can completely ignore this if you wish. The purpose of that selector is this: if you feel particularly strongly about a certain question and your answer to it, then you can place a higher priority on that question. If you do NOT feel very strongly about your answer and are unsure if it applies, then you can place a lower priority on it. Or, as I said, you can simply ignore this option entirely. 4: Click the SHOW MY RESULTS button. 5: When it takes you to the results page, SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM right away. The top of the page is nothing but advertisements; your real results are shown next to the bar graph at the bottom. It tells you the percentage of your match to each faction. 6: Click the "Go to your result page" link next to your top result (the one on top). This will bring you to a page about the faction that matches you best, which includes some code you can post in your forum signature! 7: Optionally, for members of SSLF, post your results in the official quiz discussion thread in the CONON Great Hall board!
